Bespoke roof lanterns
A bespoke roof lantern is made to the exact external size of your kerb rather than to a standard size. Most ranges make in small increments, and some can build gable-ended, single-hipped or L-shaped lanterns where a standard rectangle will not fit.

In short: Made to your exact kerb size, including long, gable-ended and L-shaped designs. Guide prices start from £1,295 including VAT, supply only.
When do you need made to measure?
When your kerb is already built and it is not a standard size, when the room proportions call for a particular length, or when the opening is not a simple rectangle. Made to measure also lets you choose the number of bars and the position of an opening vent.
If your kerb is not built yet, it is often cheaper and quicker to build it to suit a standard lantern. Our sizes page lists the common sizes.
Can you make unusual shapes?
Some ranges can make gable-ended lanterns against a wall, L-shaped lanterns for wrap-around extensions and lanterns with a hip at one end only. These need drawings, so send a sketch with dimensions and we will tell you which ranges can make it and what it costs.
How long does made to measure take?
Typical lead times for made-to-measure lanterns are longer than stock sizes; the date is confirmed on your quote. Because a bespoke lantern is made to your specification, you cannot cancel it once it has been ordered from the factory.

Bespoke roof lanterns: common questions
How accurate do my measurements need to be?
Accurate to the millimetre on the outside of the kerb, measured at several points. Kerbs are rarely perfectly square, so measure both diagonals too. Our measuring guide shows how.
Will I see a drawing before it is made?
For made-to-measure and special shapes, yes: the order is based on a drawing you approve, so the size you check is the size that gets made.
Do bespoke lanterns cost much more?
For simple rectangles the premium over a stock size is usually modest. Special shapes cost more because each one is engineered individually.
Can I return a bespoke lantern?
No. Goods made to your specification are excluded from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Your other legal rights, for example if the lantern is faulty, are not affected.
