Anthracite grey roof lanterns
Anthracite grey, RAL 7016, is one of the most widely used colours for roof lanterns. It matches the grey bifold, sliding and French doors on most modern extensions, it hides dirt better than white and it lets the frame recede against the sky.

In short: RAL 7016 anthracite grey, a widely chosen colour to match grey doors and windows. Guide prices start from £1,295 including VAT, supply only.
Which grey is anthracite?
Anthracite is RAL 7016, a dark blue-grey. It is usually supplied in a matt or textured finish. If your doors are a different grey, such as RAL 7021 or 7022, ask for that RAL code instead: lanterns can be powder-coated in almost any RAL colour.
Grey outside, white inside?
One common pairing is anthracite outside to match the doors and white inside to keep the ceiling bright. This dual-colour finish is shown as an option in the configurator.
What does an anthracite lantern cost?
Anthracite is a stock colour on most ranges, so there is usually no surcharge. Guide prices below include VAT.

Anthracite grey roof lanterns: common questions
Is anthracite grey the same as RAL 7016?
Yes. Some suppliers call it slate grey or charcoal grey, which can cause confusion, so always check the RAL number.
Will anthracite get hot in the sun?
Dark frames absorb more heat than white, but lantern frames are designed for it. The bigger effect on room temperature is the glass, which is why solar-control glass matters on south-facing roofs.
Can the inside be a different grey?
Yes. Any combination is possible on most aluminium ranges; non-stock colours carry a small surcharge.
Does anthracite show dirt?
Less than white. Dust and pollen are more visible on dark gloss finishes, which is why most grey lanterns use a matt or textured finish.
