Triple glazed roof lanterns
Triple glazed roof lanterns use glazing units with three panes and two cavities. They lose less heat than double glazing, keep the inner pane warmer, which reduces the chance of condensation, and cut more rain and traffic noise.

In short: Three panes for lower heat loss, a warmer inner surface and less noise. Guide prices start from £1,795 including VAT, supply only.
Is triple glazing worth it on a lantern?
It makes most sense on large lanterns, in colder and more exposed parts of the UK, in rooms that are heated for long hours and where rain noise matters, such as bedrooms or home offices. On a small lantern the saving is smaller relative to the extra cost.
What changes with triple glazing?
Triple units are thicker and heavier, so the lantern frame must be designed to accept them. That limits the ranges and maximum sizes available, and adds to delivery weight. We show an approximate triple-glazed weight in the configurator.
What does triple glazing cost?
Expect roughly 40% more on the lantern price than standard double glazing. Guide prices below are for triple glazed lanterns, including VAT.

Triple glazed roof lanterns: common questions
Do I need triple glazing to meet building regulations?
Not usually. Well-specified double glazed lanterns generally meet the limiting values for rooflights. Triple glazing is an upgrade, not normally a requirement. Your building control body can confirm for your project.
Will triple glazing stop rain noise?
It reduces it noticeably. Laminated glass reduces it further.
Is triple glazing heavier to lift?
Yes, the glass is roughly 45% heavier. Plan for extra hands or lifting equipment on larger lanterns.
Can I have triple glazing with solar control?
Yes. Triple units usually include a solar-control or neutral coating.
