Small roof lanterns for Derry homes
Compact lanterns for hallways, utility rooms, porches and side returns.
In midsummer the noon sun stands about 58.4° high over Derry, so roof glazing gets the full strength of it. That is why solar-control glass is worth considering on larger lanterns here.
- Daylight where windows cannot reach
- Great for hallways and utility rooms
- Light enough for two people to lift

What is the smallest roof lantern?
Many ranges start at around 800–1000 mm. Below that, a flat rooflight is usually the better product.
Can I fit a small lantern myself?
Small lanterns are within the reach of a competent builder or roofer. The critical parts are a level, square, weatherproof upstand and the manufacturer's fixing instructions. In existing homes, replacement rooflights are building work that may need building control involvement.
