Planning and building regulations for Penarth
Wales sets its own energy standards for rooflights in the Welsh Approved Document L, so the Welsh figures apply rather than England's.
Check the Welsh permitted development rules with your council before ordering, particularly in conservation areas.
Building regulations in Penarth are checked by your local authority building control team. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work in Wales too. A competent person scheme installer can self-certify; otherwise building control should be notified.

Questions from Penarth
Can I return a bespoke lantern?
No. Goods made to your specification are excluded from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Your other legal rights, for example if the lantern is faulty, are not affected.
Will I see a drawing before it is made?
For made-to-measure and special shapes, yes: the order is based on a drawing you approve, so the size you check is the size that gets made.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Penarth?
Yes. Delivery to Penarth (CF64) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
Do I need planning permission for a roof lantern in Penarth?
Often not, but it depends on the roof, the property and whether it is listed or in a conservation area. Check with your county or county borough council before ordering.
