Planning and building regulations for Havant
In England, building regulations energy guidance sets a limiting U-value of 2.2 W/m²K for new and replacement rooflights in existing homes, measured horizontally.
Lanterns on permitted development extensions are part of the extension's height limits. Adding one to an existing roof is different: over 150 mm of projection can mean a planning application.
Building regulations in Havant are checked by your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work. Installers registered with a competent person scheme can self-certify; otherwise building control must be involved.

Questions from Havant
Can I collect?
Ask us when you request your quote. Collection depends on where your lantern is made.
Do you deliver to building sites?
Yes, to mainland Britain addresses, with Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands by arrangement. Tell us about access, parking restrictions and whether a forklift or tail lift will be needed.
Can you fit a roof lantern in Havant?
We can quote for fitting where we have cover. Send your postcode and photos of the roof and kerb, and we will confirm before quoting.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Havant?
Your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
