Planning and building regulations for Falkirk
Here the Building (Scotland) Regulations and the domestic Technical Handbook set the standards, with a building warrant usually required for extension work.
Planning in Scotland follows the Scottish permitted development order; your council confirms whether your lantern needs consent.
Building regulations in Falkirk are checked by your local authority building standards (verifier) service. Some like-for-like replacement work does not need a building warrant but must still meet the building standards. Your council's building standards service can confirm.
