Planning and building regulations for Dundee
Scottish building standards, including Section 6 on energy, apply here, and a building warrant is normally needed for extensions and structural alterations.
Planning in Scotland follows the Scottish permitted development order; your council confirms whether your lantern needs consent.
Building regulations in Dundee are checked by your local authority building standards (verifier) service. Some like-for-like replacement work does not need a building warrant but must still meet the building standards. Your council's building standards service can confirm.
