Questions from Newry
Will a square lantern leak at the top?
It should not when it is correctly installed and maintained. The apex is factory-designed to shed water; leaks usually come from the upstand or roof membrane rather than the lantern itself, which is why the upstand detail matters.
Is a pyramid lantern more expensive than a rectangular one?
Per square metre it can cost slightly more, because every pane is a triangle and the apex needs a special joint. The difference is usually small next to the effect of size and glass choice.
Can you fit a roof lantern in Newry?
We can quote for fitting where we have cover. Send your postcode and photos of the roof and kerb, and we will confirm before quoting.
Is it worth having solar-control glass in Newry?
With the midsummer sun about 59.3° high at noon, roof glass in Newry gets strong summer sun. Solar control is recommended for large or south-facing lanterns.
