Questions from Westhill
Are small lanterns available quickly?
Standard small sizes are often available from stock. Lead times are confirmed on your quote.
Can I fit a small lantern myself?
Small lanterns are within the reach of a competent builder or roofer. The critical parts are a level, square, weatherproof upstand and the manufacturer's fixing instructions. In existing homes, replacement rooflights are building work that may need building control involvement.
Do I need planning permission for a roof lantern in Westhill?
Often not, but it depends on the roof, the property and whether it is listed or in a conservation area. Check with your council before ordering.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Westhill?
Your local authority building standards (verifier) service. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
