Questions from Carmarthen
Do I still need to clean self-cleaning glass?
Occasionally. It keeps the glass cleaner for longer, but heavy dirt and droppings still need a gentle rinse, especially in dry spells.
Does it work under trees?
Less well. Sap and leaf debris build up faster than daylight and rain can deal with them, so lanterns under trees need more regular rinsing.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Carmarthen?
Your local authority building control team. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
Is it worth having solar-control glass in Carmarthen?
With the midsummer sun about 61.6° high at noon, roof glass in Carmarthen gets strong summer sun. Solar control is recommended for large or south-facing lanterns.
