Replacement roof lanterns for Campbeltown homes
Swap a tired, leaking or polycarbonate lantern for modern double glazing.
In midsummer the noon sun stands about 58.0° high over Campbeltown, so roof glazing gets the full strength of it. That is why solar-control glass is worth considering on larger lanterns here.

Questions from Campbeltown
Can I replace polycarbonate panels with glass?
Usually not in the old frame: glass is much heavier than polycarbonate and the frame was not designed for it. Replacing the whole lantern is the safer route.
My old lantern leaks. Is it the lantern or the roof?
Often the roof or kerb detailing. A survey or close inspection will tell. If the lantern is the problem, replacing it is usually better value than repairing old polycarbonate.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Campbeltown?
Your local authority building standards (verifier) service. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
Do I need planning permission for a roof lantern in Campbeltown?
Often not, but it depends on the roof, the property and whether it is listed or in a conservation area. Check with your council before ordering.
