Questions from Ballymoney
Can a rectangular lantern be made to an exact size?
Yes. Made-to-measure lanterns are built to the external kerb size you give us, usually in 10 mm steps within the range's limits. Made-to-measure takes longer than a stock size and cannot be cancelled once ordered, so measure twice.
What is the most common rectangular roof lantern size?
Sizes of 1000 × 2000 mm and 1500 × 2500 mm are common standard sizes for kitchen and dining extensions, but the right size is the one that matches your kerb. If your kerb is not built yet, our sizes guide helps you pick a standard size first.
Is it worth having solar-control glass in Ballymoney?
With the midsummer sun about 58.4° high at noon, roof glass in Ballymoney gets strong summer sun. Solar control is recommended for large or south-facing lanterns.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Ballymoney?
Your district council's building control service. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
