Contemporary roof lanterns for Driffield homes
Slim frames, fewer bars and a lower profile for a cleaner view of the sky.
In midsummer the noon sun stands about 59.4° high over Driffield, so roof glazing gets the full strength of it. That is why solar-control glass is worth considering on larger lanterns here.
- Larger glass units between bars
- Ideal for modern rendered extensions
- Slim profile suits anthracite and black

Planning and building regulations for Driffield
For homes in England, a new or replacement rooflight should achieve a U-value of 2.2 W/m²K or better in the horizontal position, under Approved Document L.
Planning-wise, a lantern on a new extension is judged as part of that extension, while one added to an existing roof can fall outside permitted development if it stands more than 150 mm proud.
Building regulations in Driffield are checked by your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work. Installers registered with a competent person scheme can self-certify; otherwise building control must be involved.

Questions from Driffield
Can I have a contemporary lantern in white?
Yes, though most buyers choose grey or black because the slimmer frame is the point and dark frames disappear against the sky.
Do contemporary lanterns cost more?
Usually a little more per size than a standard range, because the bigger glass units cost more to make and handle.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Driffield?
Yes. Delivery to Driffield (YO25) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
How quickly can I get a roof lantern in Driffield?
Stock sizes are typically ready in 5–10 working days, made-to-measure in 3–4 weeks, plus delivery. Your quote gives the date for YO25.
