Wales sets its own energy standards for rooflights in the Welsh Approved Document L, so the Welsh figures apply rather than England's.
Wales has its own householder permitted development rules; listed buildings and conservation areas are the usual cases needing consent.
Building regulations in Ebbw Vale are checked by your local authority building control team. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work in Wales too. A competent person scheme installer can self-certify; otherwise building control should be notified.

Questions from Ebbw Vale
Do bespoke lanterns cost much more?
For simple rectangles the premium over a stock size is usually modest. Special shapes cost more because each one is engineered individually.
Can I return a bespoke lantern?
No. Goods made to your specification are excluded from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Your other legal rights, for example if the lantern is faulty, are not affected.
Do I need planning permission for a roof lantern in Ebbw Vale?
Often not, but it depends on the roof, the property and whether it is listed or in a conservation area. Check with your county or county borough council before ordering.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Ebbw Vale?
Yes. Delivery to Ebbw Vale (NP23) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
