Planning and building regulations for Ayr
Here the Building (Scotland) Regulations and the domestic Technical Handbook set the standards, with a building warrant usually required for extension work.
Planning in Scotland follows the Scottish permitted development order; your council confirms whether your lantern needs consent.
Building regulations in Ayr are checked by your local authority building standards (verifier) service. Some like-for-like replacement work does not need a building warrant but must still meet the building standards. Your council's building standards service can confirm.

Questions from Ayr
Will I see a drawing before it is made?
For made-to-measure and special shapes, yes: the order is based on a drawing you approve, so the size you check is the size that gets made.
Can I return a bespoke lantern?
No. Goods made to your specification are excluded from the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. Your other legal rights, for example if the lantern is faulty, are not affected.
Can you fit a roof lantern in Ayr?
We can quote for fitting where we have cover. Send your postcode and photos of the roof and kerb, and we will confirm before quoting.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Ayr?
Yes. Delivery to Ayr (KA7) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
