Planning and building regulations for Evesham
In England, building regulations energy guidance sets a limiting U-value of 2.2 W/m²K for new and replacement rooflights in existing homes, measured horizontally.
Planning-wise, a lantern on a new extension is judged as part of that extension, while one added to an existing roof can fall outside permitted development if it stands more than 150 mm proud.
Building regulations in Evesham are checked by your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work. Installers registered with a competent person scheme can self-certify; otherwise building control must be involved.

Questions from Evesham
Can the inside be a different grey?
Yes. Any combination is possible on most aluminium ranges; non-stock colours carry a small surcharge.
Will anthracite get hot in the sun?
Dark frames absorb more heat than white, but lantern frames are designed for it. The bigger effect on room temperature is the glass, which is why solar-control glass matters on south-facing roofs.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Evesham?
Yes. Delivery to Evesham (WR11) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Evesham?
Your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
