Anthracite grey roof lanterns for Paignton homes
RAL 7016 anthracite grey, a widely chosen colour to match grey doors and windows.
In midsummer the noon sun stands about 63.0° high over Paignton, so roof glazing gets the full strength of it. That is why solar-control glass is worth considering on larger lanterns here.
- White inside to keep ceilings bright

Planning and building regulations for Paignton
In England, building regulations energy guidance sets a limiting U-value of 2.2 W/m²K for new and replacement rooflights in existing homes, measured horizontally.
Lanterns on permitted development extensions are part of the extension's height limits. Adding one to an existing roof is different: over 150 mm of projection can mean a planning application.
Building regulations in Paignton are checked by your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. Replacing a rooflight in an existing home is building work. Installers registered with a competent person scheme can self-certify; otherwise building control must be involved.

Questions from Paignton
Will anthracite get hot in the sun?
Dark frames absorb more heat than white, but lantern frames are designed for it. The bigger effect on room temperature is the glass, which is why solar-control glass matters on south-facing roofs.
Can the inside be a different grey?
Yes. Any combination is possible on most aluminium ranges; non-stock colours carry a small surcharge.
Who checks building regulations for a lantern in Paignton?
Your local authority building control team or a registered building control approver. For a lantern in a new extension it forms part of the extension's approval; replacements in existing homes have their own rules.
Do you deliver roof lanterns to Paignton?
Yes. Delivery to Paignton (TQ3) is quoted for your exact postcode and confirmed in writing on your quote, together with the lead time.
